Valentine's Day Date Ideas

Build a Fort and Watch a Movie

Did you ever build forts in the living room as kids? Maybe even dusted off the good ole camping tent and threw some pillows inside for a fun sleepover? I know I did and nothing sounds better than building a fun fort in the living room, cozying up with some of Coop and I's favorite snacks and throwing on a movie.

Recreate your First Date

Take a little walk down memory lane and reenact your first date! If you can't totally reenact your first date because you have maybe moved since you first started dating, no worries! Get creative and surprise your partner with a fun filled night of some of the dishes you shared that first connection over. It's all about creating that familiar feeling for the two of you.

Cook a Meal Together That You Have Never Made Before

Going out for a fancy meal might not always be in the budget and might seem cliché for this occasion, so why not share a meal together but with a twist? Find a recipe that neither of you have made or maybe even tasted before and cook it together. I love it when Cooper and I get to make dinner together because it doesn't happen often during the work week and I miss that time to connect in the kitchen. So whenever we get to cook in the kitchen together, sip on some wine and listen to some country music, I know I am immediately going to savor our meal together that much more.

Go Out for JUST Dessert

Last year we had the opportunity to check out Andre's Confiserie Suisse's food menu, wine bar and desserts, and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint! If you live in Kansas City, it is definitely a fun spot to check out and super budget friendly. You can always eat dinner at home together per the idea above and just go out and enjoy a sweet treat and a drink or two at your fav local dessert spot. But, if you are a Kansas City local, I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. P.S. if you go, you HAVE to get the Bombé for dessert 😋

DIY Spa Night

What is better than some face masks, nail polish touch ups and some girl time? Self-care is all the rage right now (and rightfully so) and what better way to wind down from a crazy week than with your gal pals? I know I saw some fun self-care items in Target's dollar spot recently, so definitely check it out next time you are at your local Target and grab a face mask from the beauty section while you are at it too 😘This ice roller off of Amazon is one of my personal fav self-care items!

Dessert Charcuterie Board

This past weekend I had a few of my galentine's from work over after we went out to dinner and I thought it would be fun to throw together a valentine's day inspired charcuterie board for us to enjoy as dessert. I have broken down how I made that below and what red, pink and white items I used to bring it to life! P.S. I bought everything pre-made at the store aside from the dip. Everything was under $30 too!

At Home Wine and Cheese Tasting

This one is for my wine lovers 🍷 Host some of your closest girlfriends over and have everyone bring a different wine and cheese to taste and try! It's amazing how easily a charcuterie board comes together when everyone brings something different.

Host a Galentine's Brunch

I mean, who doesn't love a good brunch, especially when you are with your BFFs? Go grocery shopping and make a feast together, or whip everything up in advance. You can go all out with a fun Galentine's Day theme or just use it as an excuse to gather all your besties together to eat some yummy food and sip on a mimosa or two 🍾

DIY Project

Grab your girlies and get your creative juices flowing by splitting the cost of supplies for a DIY project. Whether that involves painting. learning how to plant a succulent or crafting in someone’s home (or over Zoom) the possibilities are endless when you get artsy with your gal pals.

Whatever it is you decide to do this Valentine's/Galentine's Day, I hope it brings you joy and love 💕

With love,

~Katie
