Back Patio Refresh

Our back patio refresh is finally complete and I am so excited to share the before and afters with you all on the blog! This was a project Coop and I have been wanting to accomplish for awhile and something we budgeted for ahead of time.

The outdoor furniture we had "before" was what came from Cooper's previous home when we were dating/engaged. It definitely served its purpose for the first couple years in our home together, but we were definitely ready to trade it in for an upgrade.

Before we got any of our new furniture set-up, we ended up power washing the concrete slab first to give us a clean canvas to work with. I actually thoroughly enjoy power washing haha, so this was a fun little project I did one Sunday afternoon. Highly recommend totally cleaning/clearing off whatever space you are wanting to refresh or redo before redecorating. Seems like a "duh" thing but it makes it feel like a completely new space when you do.

Target Egg Chair

Y'all have already heard me talk plenty about this egg chair! I am so in love with how it ties the whole patio together. I can see myself sitting out in this chair with a glass of wine and friends, or digging into my daily devotional with a cup of coffee in the morning. Got this one you see from Target, but also going to link a more budget-friendly option for y'all here as well.

Amazon Patio Set

This past spring we took the time to research a handful of patio sets and this one from amazon was by far our favorite (in terms of price and overall quality). It has great reviews and we absolutely LOVE it so far. Just a little shopping tip: you have to be careful when selecting outdoor furniture (or really any piece of furniture in general) because depending on which retailer you purchase the outdoor furniture from, as soon as you put the furniture together, you cannot return it - even if there was something wrong with it that is out of your control. That was another main reason we ended up moving forward with this set from Amazon.

This patio set is also water proof, the cushions are weather proof and we plan on leaving it outside all fall. Not having to drag the whole set under shelter if we get a storm was something we were really looking for/wanting as well. We have been taking the cushions in when we know it is going to rain, but we could technically keep it all outside if we wanted. We ordered a cover for the entire set which is on the way, so we are excited to get that soon in order to keep it looking nice for many years to come!

Also, a big bonus for us was that the patio set came with the fire pit/table combo. It hooks up to your standard BBQ propane tank and actually puts out a surprising amount of heat. We'll definitely be spending some crisp fall evenings fireside.

SkyVue Fusion Outdoor TV

We did our research when it came to outdoor TVs and decided that we wanted one that was built for the outdoors, rather than a regular tv that has been retro-fitted for outdoor use. We found that for quality and reviews our best bet was to go with this 55-inch SkyVue Fusion. We're fortunate that the TV is on the North side of our house so that we don't ever get direct sunlight on the screen (the TV's made for direct sunlight are a bit pricier than ones for shade). The Fusion is a Smart TV with apps already preloaded, is super easy to connect to our wifi and has the capability to cast any app from any device. We can't wait to catch some Chiefs and 'Cats football games out here this fall (fingers crossed we get a season 🏈)!

I just want to briefly touch on that we did plan for and budget for all these pieces. I totally understand that depending on your budget, these pieces may or may not be the best option for you, and that is totally okay. If you ever need help finding other budget friendly options, I am always happy to help you shop. However, we are extremely happy with the quality of furniture we got so far and are excited to officially break it in this fall (Walter is excited about his new playground too 🐶).

Coop and I really enjoy hosting/entertaining and this was a fun project to do together in hopes of being able to share this space with the people we love soon. As always, if you have any questions about anything, please let me know! Links to everything are below and is also linked over in my LIKEtoKNOW.it as well. Hope you guys had the best weekend.
