How to Style a Bar Cart: Fall Edition

I will admit, I am not one to decorate for Halloween (when it comes to holidays, I'm a BIG Christmas girl over here 🎄), but I do love any excuse to decorate our home and restyle our bar cart with the changing of the seasons. Below I am breaking down how I styled our bar cart this fall, and all the essentials that I either already had or grabbed from Target to add the perfect mix of Halloween and chic 💁🏻‍♀️

Before I break things down, I am going to go out on a limb and say that you likely already have most of these items--Bonus! Decorating your home doesn't have to be expensive, especially if you're on a budget. My number one tip for decorating your home has always been to shop it first online...then go to Target 😉 Using what you already have and simply moving it to a new place in your home is an easy (and free!) way to freshen things up and make a space look and feel brand new. Did anyone else restyle their room a million times when they were little? 🙋🏻‍♀️

Seasonal touches

Alright, let's get started! In order to make our bar cart look and feel a little spookier for the season, I added a few touches of Halloween/fall on top of what I like to call the essentials (think glassware, letter board, coffee table books, candles, booze obviously, etc.). First up are these sugar skull and namaste skeleton succulents. I found them both at my local Trader Joe's and they were both around $5 each.

Next, I always like to grab some fun and seasonally appropriate cocktail napkins and paper straws to match too! I love having these on hand when we are hosting. Makes it a little more fun serving any seasonal snacks or drinks. I found both the straws and napkins at Target this year.

To me, candles make any space feel cozy, so I grabbed these black tapered candles this year from Target to pull in more of those "moody" tones that go with the paper bats on the wall and the black felt on my letter board. I found this letter board quote on Pinterest and I love updating it as the seasons evolve! I actually just wrote a fun new blog post that lists out 30 fall themed quotes for your next letter board!

Honestly, I wasn't 100% sold on the wall decor bats at first (I thought they were a little too Halloween-y), but after I put everything together, I think they really pull this entire little corner together and make it feel festive and fun 🎃

A couple of festive pumpkins that I've collected over the years add some seasonal flair to the bottom shelf, and the clear pumpkin with the fall candy mix is the cherry on top of my bar cart. I elevated the pumpkin on some books that I turned the covers inside out to get a sleek and clean all-white look. Everything else on the cart are are staples that I use no matter what the season--like I said above, a little rearranging and it's like they're brand new pieces!

Anyways, what I am trying to say in a roundabout way is if you have the basics/the essentials, then add some pops of seasonal items/decor, and you can turn any bar cart (or space in your home for that matter) into a fun seasonal showcase without burning a hole in your pocket!
