How to Style An Entryway Table

Nothing gets me more excited than the transition into a new season. We are starting to see some glimpses of fall-like weather here in Kansas City this week and that makes me one happy girl. It might seem silly, but I am trying my best to find joy in the simplest things lately and the crisp morning weather during my warm-up runs is one of those little things as of late.

With the start of August and some glimpses of fall on the horizon, I thought it was time to start transitioning some of our home decor by adding a little more warmth to our look as fall approaches. I thought I would share some details on how I refreshed our small entryway table to start! Some of these decor items are things I already had and some are new. All in all, I would say I spent no more than around $50 on this refresh.

I love the challenge of using what I already have to freshen things up in our home! You don't need to always buy new to make a space feel new. Anyways, below are some tips on how to style your entryway table along with links to everything I used to create this look. If you have any questions on any of our decor items or anything at all, let me know! I love it when you guys reach out and I absolutely love it when you share your own creations with me too ☺️

basket // candlesticks // candle holders // coffee table book 1 // coffee table book 2 // wooden beads // candle // terra cotta vase // burnt orange vase

  1. Utilizing the "rule of threes" - Now this is a rule my Mom taught me a long time ago. I always think things look better in threes or at least in an odd number when decorating a space. Something to keep in mind when you are shopping for your own house or when you are at HomeGoods next πŸ˜‰

  2. Use different textures by adding a touch of dried pampas grass - I love the current trend of dried florals. I actually got our dried out pampas grass from our local grocery store but another local boutique is also selling it online! Find the link here. The other dried florals came from Hobby Lobby. You could even see what you have in your own backyard for this too! Love the warmth that these natural/earthy tones bring to this little space with something so simple as dried up florals.

  3. Elevate your decor by using a stack of books - love this tip and it really should cost you nothing at all! Look around your house for some older books or coffee table books to elevate an object on your entryway table. These two books are ones I already had lying around. I will link them here and here for you are interested. I mean, who doesn't love a good Joanna Gaines book?

  4. Add a personal item or something quirky to create character - I think this tip is so fun. My personal item is this ampersand print. My best friend actually gave this to me and our other best friend as a gift. We all have them in our homes and since we all used to live in different cities, it was something that brought us together in a different way. I also loved adding a frame of some sort to my entryway table too.

  5. Display different height vases or candlesticks for some added dimension - Got these matte black candlesticks (and candles) from Amazon! An easy way to add in some height to your table. The vases are also from Target (Largest one for $10) and Hobby Lobby. I am currently on a terra cotta kick right now, so I was happy when I saw this during my Hobby Lobby run the other week. I think terra cotta does a good job of adding some neutral warmth to this space as well.

  6. Have a "catch all" bowl or basket for keys, mail, etc. - Love this little basket from Target. We put our keys in here and Coop also puts his Airpods in here after he gets home from his morning runs/workouts. Just an easy place for us to remember where we put those items when we are about to head out for the day. Might also become our homebase for our masks too 😷

Hope this helps a little bit in inspiring you to make an old space look new. If you use any of my tips, I'd love to see the final product of your mini makeover.

with love,

~Katie
