Grapefruit Aperol Margaritas

It isnโ€™t quite a Chiefs football Sunday at the Machs without some sort of cocktail in hand, so I am super excited to bring a new MACH-arita to the blog with these grapefruit aperol margaritas. Can you tell I am still craving Italy with the splash of Aperol?! ๐Ÿ˜‚ The freshly squeezed lime and grapefruit juice really make these something special and honestly make me wish spring weather was a little closer. Who else is already over winter? ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

I am excited to bring yโ€™all the very first cocktail creation of 2022 with these delicious and fresh margaritas. I hope you enjoy them and if you give them a try, be sure to tag me over on Instagram stories.

What You Will Need

*the recipe below makes two margaritas. If you want to make a pitcher, I recommend multiplying everything by 4 below. Super Bowl party anyone?!*

  • 4 oz silver tequila. We prefer Casamigos!

  • 1 oz aperol

  • 2 oz triple sec

  • 3 oz freshly squeezed grapefruit juice

  • 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice

  • 1 oz simple syrup. Coop creates his own. It is super easy to do!

  • Salt, sugar and/or fresh fruit (grapefruit or limes) for garnish

Directions

  • Combine all ingredients into a shaker with ice.

  • Shake for about 30 seconds and then pour over ice into your desired Margarita glasses. I am linking the ones I got for Christmas in my Reel. Six glasses for $38 from Amazon. They also come in a clear option ($27) if the blue detail isnโ€™t your vibe.

  • Garnish your rim with either salt or sugar and a little slice of grapefruit. I prefer salt with these and Coop really likes these with sugar, so maybe try them both ways and let me know what you think ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Sip, cheers and enjoy! Oh and GO CHIEFS!

With love,

~Katie
